The Connemara Pony

The Connemara pony is considered to be Ireland's only native breed. In former times they learned to live on tough vegetation and survive the hardships of their habitat. They gave on their qualities to their foals and these qualities we still find in the Connemara ponys of today: Hardiness, stamina, a special kindness, a huge heart, athleticism and versatilitiy.

Connemara ponies are 128 to 148 cms high, the colours are grey, bay, black, dun and occasional roan, chestnuts, palomino and dark eyed creams. They are compact, well balanced with depth and substance. They have free movement and a natural jumping ability.
Full maturity is at five years of age.
Connemaras are a suitable mount for children and adults.
